Covid-19 updated

MARINElife policy in response to Novel Coronavirus 'COVID-19' - updated 19/09/2020

MARINElife is continually monitoring the NHS medical advice and the UK Government response to the outbreak of COVID-19 across the UK. We have therefore reviewed our position as of 18th September 2020 following the latest anouncement of the government.

We have a duty of care to our volunteers and a responsibility to play our part in containing the virus. As a precautionary measure, it has been decided by the Board of Trustees to continue to keep in place the suspension of ALL ACTIVITIES for the current year (2020). For the avoidance of doubt, this includes all talks, training sessions, face-to-face meetings, surveys and all commercial (except some small boat) Wildlife Officer trips.

Please note that some public engagements may resume from 4th July following the latest government update. These will be conducted with strict C19 safety procedures. Details of upcoming activities that can safely go ahead in England will be posted on the website and our social media channels.

We are as of this day 19/09/2020 still unable to do any survey work or WLO trips with our commercial partners due to the ongoing C-19 restrictions on Social distancing! We are keeping in touch with our commercial partners and will advise you when we have more information. we are at present able to conduct some small boat surveys, so please keep an eye on your inbox for opportunties to get involved.

Any immediate survey related queries should be directed to
Updates regarding the MARINElife position will be provided as the situation progresses.

Our policy is that we (as a minimum) follow the advice issued by the NHS (and NHS Scotland) which can be found at:

Many thanks for your co-operation and understanding.

Board of Trustees, MARINElife
