Deck watch on deck 11
As well as researching the wildlife of the Bay of Biscay, South West Approaches and the English Channel, BDRP aims to improve awareness of the incredible diversity of wildlife present in this area of the North East Atlantic. We approach this in a number of ways, both on and off the ship.

Our research provides an exciting selection of sightings and information on this dynamic environment and our scientific officers provide illustrated talks to interested groups.

Wildlife Liaison Officer

ID board in the Whale and Dolphin Room, Deck 8
Since 2001, and as part of our partnership with P&O Ferries, BDRP have provided a Wildlife Officer to link science with passengers. This enables passengers to have a better understanding of our Research and the ocean environment.

The Wildlife Officer has a programme (available from the reception on deck 6) that includes presentations and deck watches to help you make the most of your trip on the Pride Of Bilbao with tips on how to watch and what to look for.

We have a Whale and Dolphin identification board (deck 11) and a Whale and Dolphin room (deck 8).
