MARINElife were once again asked back to attend Burnham on Sea's Emergency Services Community Awareness and Promotion Event (ESCAPE Day). This was our seventh consecutive year attending this very worthy event, which supports the vital work of all our rescue and support services.
MARINElife's local event organisers Rick and Sharon Morris were joined on the day by Maggie Gamble; a long-standing research surveyor and volunteer for the charity. These events enable us to inform the public on the marine conservation work of the charity as well as enlighten them on the marine wildlife that frequent our coastal waters.
The event was attended by around 40 emergency services and charities on a glorious sunny day throughout, with thousands of visitors enjoying all the stalls and demonstrations from the RNLI, BARB, Coastguard and others. Images from the day can be found here
Rick Morris was also interviewed by Somerset's local radio station, Sedgemoor FM. The interview will go out on Sedgemoor 104.2fm on the 14th September at 10:00. You can listen live if you're in the Bridgwater area, alternatively, you can listen to it on Sedgemoor FM's website.
