We were welcomed aboard the 'Stena Lagan' by the crew and shown to our cabins where we dropped off our bags. We were then shown to the bridge, where we were welcomed by Captain Scocchi and his officers.
It was a surprisingly nice day after the previous night's storm, with just a gentle swell and good visibility. We were almost immediately treated to a number of sightings of Manx Shearwaters and Gannets. Sightings of a range of gulls followed with plenty of Guillemots and the occasional Fulmar.
As we neared our destination, we began to pick up good numbers of Sandwich Terns and large flocks of Manx Shearwaters.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with the crew before the ship tied up in Belfast where we enjoyed good views of the lush Northern Irish countryside whilst we waited for the ship to turn around.
We would like to thank Captain Scocchi and his friendly crew for a thoroughly worthwhile and enjoyable survey!
