About Sightings.
WLO Sightings
Our casual sighting reports are collated by the Wildlife Officer who travels on every trip. The sightings mainly come from the WLO, but also are collected from passengers on the ship. We would be grateful if any passengers travelling could pass sightings (including bird records) to the Wildlife Officer when they are on the ship.
Survey Sightings
Our survey data is collected only by our researchers on the Bridge of the ship whilst conducting an effort-related survey.
Both reports will be listed on the website. As the sampling methods differ, it is likely that the sightings will differ.
