Its been a an amazing week in Lyme Bay with unprecedented numbers of a globally threatened seabird that we study moving in and staying in Lyme Bay.

We have been studying the Balearic Shearwater for many years and know that they enter the Channel annually to moult and feed. Normally the numbers in Lyme Bay are transient and in small numbers, but larger groups are present currently and appear to be staying longer than normal.
We are working with JNCC to conduct surveys for the birds and a trip was planned for today. Please visit our blog site for the latest Channel sightings by clicking here
