Can you help needed to fund vital work to protect the charismatic White-beaked Dolphin with an exciting citizen science project engaging the local communities of the Jurassic Coast and Falmouth Bay?
MARINElife has launched an exciting new crowdfunding campaign which aims to raise at least £32,000 to run 12 small-boat surveys in Lyme Bay and Falmouth Bay. Unsing volunteers, MARINElife will carry out systematic surveys and produce a report on the data collected and present this to the MCZ decision makers. MARINElife Have been campaigning to get the area protected for a number of years, but this protection has recently been rejected. By funding these surveys we're aiming to get the evidence for site fidelity, so surveys covering the whole area will be undertaken to get an idea of the population's status and conservation requirements. We want to get the public involved and joining us on the boats, and to take a sense of ownership on the protection of the marine environment on their doorstep!
There are plenty of great rewards available for anyone helping fund our important campaign including free places on the survey vessels, free cetacean identification workshop places, beautiful prints of Lyme Bay white-beaked dolphin and gift vouchers for some amazing wildlife experiences in Falmouth Bay.
