White-Beaked Dolphin Encounter in Lyme Bay (5 March 2011)

White-beaked Dolphins were again encountered by a MARINElife volunteer (Mark Darlaston) in Lyme Bay on 5th March 2011 when a group of 6-8 animals spent around 25 minutes close to the fishing boat on which he was travelling.

This is a key species for MARINElife and one for which we have a photo-identification catalogue (click here).

The images Mark took of the individuals will be compared with the catalogue to look for new animals or for recaptures of existing animals.

MARINElife will be guiding Naturetrek trips in to Lyme Bay this summer to look for dolphins and seabirds with full details available here.
